I am having an episode of “fighting” myself about “eating”. What I can, when I can and all the guilt and struggle that goes with it!
This is ridiculous! But it is a significant part of most individuals who are trying to control their eating.
This first thing we need to do is “change” the “voices in our heads”.
Step back and breath.
Look at what is really going on that is triggering this uprising within that is driving me to go eat.

What am I feeling and trying to avoid?
Obviously, I feel out of control in this situation. I wouldn’t be looking for a way to “deal” with it otherwise. I want to “feel” better, and if I “eat” something it will make me “feel” better.
As I’m looking at this, I had an ah ha moment. I realized that this isn’t only true with me about “eating.” It’s also true for all of us when our “emotions” start rising from within. They manifest in our world.
It can come out as anger, depression, defiance, or any other means of “lashing out”. There are multiple ways that emerge as a response to something that has been triggered.
What do we do with it? How do I adjust it?
I feel “out of control” with some issues. These issues in my life are not mine to deal with.
I then start to “talk myself back down off the high-wire”.
I need to accept the things I can not change. This issue is not mine to “fix”.

What I can do is turn it over to God. I will ask him to guide and direct the individuals involved. They need to make the wisest and best steps. This will bring the desired and good outcome for the ones involved.
I then have to know that I can trust Him. I need to trust them to deal with this situation. I will trust Him with the process.
I shift my focus to another project. I can and need to get it done and take care of it.
I start to thank God, counting my blessings one by one.
I then thank him for all He has brought me through in the past. This helps me remember to hold onto my faith. I trust that if He helped with all these other things, he’ll get us through this one. He doesn’t forsake us or leave us. He promises when we ask, He hears and answers. I may not understand the process. I may have no idea how He will work. Still, I can know that “He’s Got This”. He loves them even more than I can imagine and cares how much I love them.
I can now focus on my own “angst”, breathe and start my affirmations to balance and refocus my “outlook”.
I re-ground and know I will now “feed” my soul with what I need, to be calm. Then I can once again find my joy.
I speak to myself. I start with: I now choose to only eat what is good and healthy for me.
I rebuke all the fear and refuse to listen to the negative thoughts in my head.
I bring joy into my heart through memories of good times and all the beauty in my life.
I thank God for answered prayers.
I thank Him for my family, friends and the many blessings in my life.
I am sidestepping my “stress” with a short walk outside and then redirecting to a new project.
May you have the strength to stop those “voices” in your head. Let go of the past gunk. Re-direct your choices to positive, good, and fun things. Give thanks and simply move on into a good space in this moment. Then hit “repeat” and enjoy your life!

Every Day Blessings
