I have faced more disappointing news that left me devastated and in tears. Then there are issues that my family members are struggling with that seem almost insurmountable and completely restrictive and overwhelming.
I sat down and felt completely crushed as I had to face the part of the serenity prayer that says “Accept what I cannot change”. So today I started with prayer, scriptures filled with God’s promises and a great message from Keith Moore to hold on to and focus on. Then I put on my coffee pot and re-focused to my “project” to address the issues that matter to me and lay on my heart so heavy that I have to step up and do something about them. It’s so easy for others to “look from the outside” and become judgmental – we’ve all done it – but we honestly have no way of really understanding
“them and their actions” unless we’ve “walked in their shows” as the old saying goes.
My prayers are that we can join together in the “fight” to be advocates for the “addicts”, their family and friends. May you find the strength you need to keep going one more hour, one more day and know that when you sit (or fall) down, God will give us rest. He will be there with His love and comfort to help us, along with those we love and care about. Lord, help us to place them in our Father’s loving arms, and realize that we are there as well. “See” in your mind and “feel” His presence and love surrounding you and those you love. Declare and Thank Him for the answers to the desires of our heart and for the strength to keep going as we receive and share His love.
Blessings to all.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
