May You Find Peace

To all those precious mothers, grandmothers, sisters,

all women who have lost a child or loved one –

nothing can compare to that emptiness and forever “hole”

that can only be filled by the one individual who you are now separated from.

My prayer for you, especially today,

is that God brings you the comfort that though they are far away

and not where we can give them a hug,

He has them in His arms

and His hand is always ready to help us get back up

when we don’t even have the strength to barely breathe.

There is no way around, over or under the pain and loss that never “heals”,

you just learn to live with it the best way you can

as you walk through all the things that come with it.

The ups and downs,

the toll it has taken on you and others that you love and care about so dearly,

can only be “managed” through the love of God and others

along with the strength from within,

as we allow ourselves to grieve,

forgive them,

forgive ourselves

and know that they are now at peace,

out of the turmoil and struggles they faced and dealt with,

resting in the arms of a loving God.

May you find peace and rest

As you receive God’s love

Letting Him wrap His arms around you

To bring comfort and strength

In a way only He can do.

I'm not an expert, nor do I have a "degree" in the area of addiction - I am simply a Mother and Grandma with a heart for all who battle with any addiction and those whose lives are affected by their loved ones struggle. There is a driving force behind my passion to be a voice for both those caught in the grip of addiction and their family and friends, as their lives and hearts are broken from this evil. May you find hope and peace as we walk through this together with God's help.
